Maybe you don’t know it, but behind coffee there is a complex and varied world. During the visit you will discover a still crafted and small roasting company that uses premium quality coffee beans, in order to satisfy all types of customers. There is history – with the arrival and trading of coffee that arose due to the city’s status as a free port since the eighteenth century and the stock exchange that was established in the early twentieth century.Leggi di più
But there is something more to the deeply-rooted identification with coffee that permeates Trieste, something that goes beyond history and the economy. For the city, coffee is more than a café, it is part of its spirit.
11.00 am: CHEESE DISCOVERY
The last 20 years has seen a revival of cheese production on the Karst. Prior to that, cheese production had virtually disappeared. The animals are fed on fodder from permanent rich meadows on the plateau that, with more than 1,600 scents, give the milk its unique flavor.Leggi di più
The milk is processed raw to produce around 15 types of cheese, both fresh and matured, the names of which bear witness to the historical influence of the nearby Slovenian community (jamar, tabor, zepek, mlet etc).
12:00 pm: TORRI DI SLIVIA CAVE, with inside wine / oil tasting
The cave is made up of spaces characterized by beautiful vaults, peculiar stalactites and stalagmites, having an height of up to 7 meters and weighing up to 10 tons. The most famous are the stalagmite towers, a group of eight concretions of different sizes, after which the cave is named.Leggi di più
